Peer-Reviewed Final Task!

What's up y'all! Now that we have our final task completed it is time to show it to others! I had 3 of my friends fully watch it. My friends Mela, Lindsay, and Emerson. They too just completed their film and also asked me to review there's and lets say that there's was amazing! But now I asked for their opinion on mine.       First I showed my friend Lindsay. The video started and she said that she loved our title and credits font. Her reasoning behind this was because it truly brought the film together. Another thing she said was that she loved my acting. It was funny in most parts but she couldn't imagine someone else doing it.       Second I showed my friend Mela. She was kind of confused about the plot in the beginning but in the end she understood. She said she loved our editing and effort we put into it.       And lastly I showed my friend Emerson, and she LOVED it. She said that she loved our audio because it made it more eerie. She too didn't know

Music: Choosing Audios

Hey y'all! Last addition to the editing portion of the final task! I was doing research on the music that was going to apply to the Final Task. I used many websites, but deciding to stick with what I knew would be the best, it needed to be found on YouTube. I searched for royalty free music and boy oh boy there were MANY to choose from. However, I was stuck between two sounds. One being a constant beat like a timer and the other having suspense in the sound as time went on. Although it was a tough decision to make between me and my group, my group members and I came agreed to choose the second one. The reasoning behind this choice, was simple. It fit the plot of our film and plot better. The first choice was a little to fast paced, meaning that it wouldn't have fit the video. It was also very loud, so it would be hard to both insert and hear non-diegetic sounds. On the other hand, the second one was quiet, but added that suspenseful aspect that I was looking for in the film. A

Editing: Sound Effects

Hey y'all! Welcome to part 2 of editing for the final task! Today we are doing sound effects. Things are running great and flowing smoothly. Trimming and transitions are done so we have that out of the way. But now it's time for sound effects. Kylie took the job of doing the sound effects but I wasn't familiar with editing sound effects so I applied my current knowledge to help her as well. The plan was to identify the suspenseful or comic relief scenes. This way we can find sounds on YouTube or online to add to the footage. This took a bit of time but about an hour later we found our sound effects. We used iMovie to apply the sound effects to our final task again. Sound effects took time to apply because it required to be on point and specific with timing. After many rewatches and time I basically know my video in and out. This was a very good thing because it helped me understand our power struggle but it helped me a lot with editing! I also had to do more trimming becau

Editing: Title and Transitions

Hey y'all! Back again. Now that we have the final task filmed we can start editing! Since I edited the footage for the music video I taught my group how to do most of my techniques! Today we are going to do the title and transitions. We decided to dedicate most of the time to editing because we wanted to make the film as scary as possible. I chose to edit on my Phone because it is where I am most comfortable doing it. I again used iMovie to edit because that's where I am the most experienced in and what I did for the music video. Firstly, I trimmed the clips and scenes. This was the easiest part because it is very simple and I can apply to each scene by using just my finger. After finishing trimming I applied the transitions. This took a bit of time because I liked testing each transition and seeing what flowed smoothly. For the title, I did the green screen effect. Basically, I took the fonts and applied them to a green screen background so they would apply to the video throu

Filming: The rest of the scenes!

Hey y'all! Today is the final day of filming the final task! Did you get it? Haha. Anyways! Today's work is pretty heavy considering we have to film 6 scenes. As learned from previous filming days, we film then we break.. for a long time. But today we need to focus and get it done. For the scenes, I am determined to put in my A-game and be the best actor there has ever been. But unfortuantely my closest friend and group member, Mia, broke her knee due to her sport so we had to think of other ways we can film with other actors. Majority of the group has siblings so we incorporated them. My sister and Kylie's. Fortunately, it is nothing to big so they will handle it just fine! These scenes do involve a lot of dialouge for me to remeber. And our filmer, Kylie, used her camera during the process of these takes which have been a blessing to the quality of the film! I believe throughout filming I have done a good job acting especially with a few bumps on the road. But eventually

Filming: Scenes 4 and 5

Hey y'all! I'm bac k again. As you know, yesterday I filmed scenes one, two, and three for the Final Task. Well, I am happy to say that we continued today! We completed scenes four and five. There was limited time, as our group's schedule did not necessarily align, but I felt it was necessary to do as much as we could, and my group agreed as well.  Today we spent a lot of time working on editing the film. I feel like things went much smoother than yesterday. The key was making adjustments like moving the camera or actors to make tasks easier. I've also gotten used to how my partners work and how we can be successful together. During filming, I am the main character so I have a ton of lines to remember which can be frustrating when I can't! Although I did struggle with some lines and needed a few takes I eventually nailed it down without any issues. I also helped out the cameraman who was initially having some difficulties. Our group decided to film which is trick

Filming: Scenes 1,2, and 3

Hey y'all! back at it again updating you guys about our final task!  After much consideration and planning, I began filming my final task today. I was assigned an important role in the video, the main character! During the beginning of the shoot, lets just say it wasn't the best. Many, many takes were needed, as an issue seemed to arise with each take. However, it was addressed quickly, and avoided the next time. One problem that seemed to be very prevalent was the seriousness. Although this is a horror movie, there was supposed to be some lighthearted aspects, but it seemed as if there was never a right time for this. So, the group took my advice. This was to continue to build suspense in the beginning, as only scene 1, 2, and 3 were shot and closer to the end was in which humorous aspects could be added. I will say that behind the camera, is just as difficult as being in front of the camera. Between trying to incorporate specific angles, and hiding the camera so the actor wo

I'm Back!!

Hey y'all! We are back again with the production blogs! This time for our final task. The music video was pretty fun and I loved working with my group. But now we have another member and an amazing idea for the final task! Today I will talk about my position in the final task and what I plan to contribute to it! I'm working with amazing people so I have very high hopes for the outcome! My group and I have decided that I'd be the main character for the final task! Since I was an editor/filmer for our last project we all decided I'll have a go for acting. Surprisingly, I am kind of scared because I'm used to helping with editing but I believe I will pitch in with that as well. I am currently researching and watching tutorials on how to bring real emotion and trying to be serious during filming! We will start filming I believe next week afterschool or on the weekend. We are filming at my house as well so I am super excited! I believe that during the making of th
