Editing Day One!

Hi y'all! It's your girl back at it again with another blog. It's officially Halloween tomorrow! I can't wait to dress up but most importantly it fits so well with the theme of the music video! Stay safe and have fun! Today we are starting the editing process. Yes, it's that time of the month, Editing! I'm not complaining because I genuinely enjoy it but let us get started! I plan to use the app iMovie to edit the music video. First and foremost I screen-recorded "I Can See You" - Taylor Swift from YouTube and adjusted the recording to 1:20 so I would have some space if I needed. I decided that today I would only edit the videos from the mall scenes. In the opening scene, I cut some of the video because Kylie was seen laughing and looking at the camera on accident. I plan to add a title but that will be after the whole video is done. Secondly, we have the over-the-shoulder shot of Mia looking at Kylie. I connected this with the first scene with no tra

Filming Day Two!

Hi y'all! Rowyn is back here with another blog. I'm still a little sick but now with a sore throat because of me yelling at our school football team haha! We won though so it's all worth it. Our last day of filming was Thursday. My group and I had last-minute plans to film at Holiday Park. Holiday Park is where I played many sports growing up. It was also where my old house was so being there was very nostalgic. I thought the park was a great location for our music video because there can be... some random people there haha. But our moms or dads as we grew up always told us to never talk to strangers at the park or in fact anywhere. This location contrasts that idea growing up because we have always been taught that now we are just stuck with those worries. Since this was also a public park we didn't have to ask permission to film. Many people did walk by asking what we were doing because of Mia's costume haha. But besides that, I am very proud of the angles and sh

Filming Day One!

Hi y'all! It's rowyn back again with another blog. I have currently been very sick and have had a bunch of headaches. But I am feeling better by the minute! Monday was a half day for our school so my group thought it was a perfect time to start filming our music video! We had the rides situated and how long we thought filming would take went perfectly. I believe that Monday was the perfect day to film as well. But we only filmed in one location for our first day of filming. I thought it would be better to film at one location each day because we also have a ton of homework and practices so we had to get our timing right. Our first location was the Galleria. My group and I walked in, getting our outfits together and setting up what props we used. Since we came back from school and had limited time my group didn't have time to do any makeup and such. I was the filmer so I was unfortunately not in any of the scenes but maybe next project! We started off looking at our storybo

Production Blog - Hard Working

Hi y'all! It's Rowyn again. Today is just more planning and some changes! I am super excited about filming our music video! Not only because I love the idea but because it fits perfectly in time for Halloween! I love Halloween because something about dressing up and being with your friends makes me happy. Because we have a lot of other work for classes and practice. We decided that we are going to start filming on Monday (October 23). This is because at school it is an early release day and we will all be available to film. We are going to film at the Galleria, the park, and Kylie's house. This plan hasn't changed because these locations are perfect for the video. But we also haven't had any problems with the locations so we are good to go. But I did overhear someone saying that we had to get permission to film at the Galleria but I'm not going to worry about that now. For playing a character, to play the role, you have to dress like the role. Because I don'

Production Blog - Getting Started!

Hi, y'all! It's Rowyn again. Today I will talk about my position in the music video and what I plan to contribute to it! I'm working with amazing people so I have very high hopes for the outcome! I decided I'd be the editor for the music video since I have prior knowledge of editing videos plus experience from the commercial. But being an editor you have to look at things that you know other people don't pay attention to. Like transitions, not many people know this but transitions are what really bring a video together plus help understand what's happening. It impacts the pace and style so you really have to put a lot of thought into it. I plan to use very chilling, creepy transitions that will bring out the stalker's resemblance in the video as well as the victim. I will also try to align it with the song so it comes out smooth. For the editing platform, I plan to use iMovie because it is a very easy yet impactful editing software. As well as being an e

Storyboard - Music Video

Hi y'all! This is the completed storyboard for my music video!  Scene 1: Establishing wide shot of Kylie looking through a clothes rack. Scene 2: Over-the-shoulder shot of Mia (Stalker) staring at Kylie walking to the dressing room. Scene 3: Kylie talking to Rowyn (her friend) in the mirror, Mia's face in the mirror. Scene 4: Kylie looks back, Mia isn't there. Then looks in the mirror again and she isn't there. There is then a close up of Kylie shaking her head in confusion. Scene 5: Kylie tells Rowyn "Let's go, something is weird", tracking shot of them walking to the car. Scene 6: Kylie and Rowyn are walking to their car, a vehicle drives past and Mia is behind it. Scene 7:  Kylie walks in the park listening to music. Scene 8: Long shot of  Mia popping behind a tree, starting to walk to Kylie. Scene 9: Insert shot of Kylie texting Rowyn, "I think someone is following me" after  receiving a text from an unknown number. Scene 10: Over-t

Planning Blog - Music Video

Planning for Music Video Props -  Knife - This is for our stalker (Mia) and she will use this to scare the victim (Kylie).  Fake Blood - We plan to use fake blood for some shots to bring gore and creepiness into our video.  Phone - For our victim to try and call the police.  Bat - To hurt the stalker. Ring camera - this will be used for one shot, we are still deciding what to do with it.  Location -  We are currently planning on filming in the Galleria in Fort Lauderdale, mainly in the parking garage but also some scenes in the mall. But we also decided we should add a second location. Kylie's house is right next to the beach so we also might incorporate some of that.   Schedule -  While this is still being decided on, the most likely date we will film this will be November 2nd. November 2nd is also "Day of the Dead" which contributes to the theme of the music video.  Backup plan -  Kylie is very busy with softball on the weekends so we would most likely do something aft

Group Blog - Music video

Hey y'all! It's Rowyn again. Today I am going to talk about my group and the song for our music video! My group consists of two girls in my class, Kylie and Mia. These girls have been my best friends for a long time and we are the dream team. We all work very hard and we are very determined. In honor of Halloween coming up, we decided to go for a dark, creepy music video. We decided that the song "I Can See You (Taylor's Version)" by Taylor Swift was the appropriate song for our idea. Since we all love Taylor Swift, it was pretty easy to choose. I have watched the music video for this song but to be honest I'm not a huge fan of it. I believe my group and I will make a really good video! I am not sure what are roles are nor how we will film. Since this is our first project we are going to test the waters first. We will see who is the better actor or filmmaker. For now, I believe Kylie and Mia are going to be actors and I will be the filmer. I do wan

Intro Blog - Music Video

Hey blog! I'm back.  I'm a sophomore at Fort Lauderdale High School. Attending high school  gave me a lot of opportunities as a person. For starters, I play volleyball and I have been playing for over 3 years. Being on the team has brought many people into my life who have been the best people to be  around with every day after school. Someday I would also really like to start playing lacrosse which is a new sport I'm trying out! Academic-wise, I'm involved with a ton of business classes. I have taken marketing since freshman year which is what I want to pursue in with my future.  One thing that does quite bring me down is math, I've always disliked math even when I do get it. Walking into my math class is one of the lowest parts of my day but I won't let it stop me from bringing me down. I also am involved with a ton of volunteering! Over the summer I attended a church camp where I was a waitress and I made deep connections with my peers and learned a lot abou
