Reflection - All About Me Commercial

1. What technology did you learn to use?        I learned to use iMovie and YouTube. IMovie greatly impacted my commercial because editing really put it all together. I also helped my classmates with using iMovie. I don't know what I would do if I didn't edit my commercial with IMovie. YouTube was surprisingly very easy. I helped my classmates upload their videos as well as my own. I even learned how to embed it onto Blogger which was very fun!   It was a process and took a little bit to get used to, but it ended up being really good!      2.  What did you learn about the process of putting a project together?     I learned many things about the process of putting a project together. One thing is that you have to  be patient. Editing takes time so it's easy to get annoyed because of how long it is to put in the  effort and hard work. Another thing is that if you don't know how to do something then you should always ask a peer or search it up. I have spent countless

All About Me Commercial

After a very long time finalizing this commercial it is finally here! Enjoy!

Production Blog - Finalizations

Hi y'all! It's Rowyn again. Today is our final edits of the commercial! I finished adding every video and photo and now it is time to add the song. I chose Stubborn Love by the Lumineers. For adding the song you can't choose it on IMovie and bam you're done, you have to screen record it on Youtube. After doing that I looked at some of my friend's commercials and saw that they had some sort of title in the beginning. For this I went to the app Phonto and then used my beginning photo as a base and used the font "Keep on Truckin" to make a title saying "My life". It sounds cheesy but it added a nice touch! I remember one day this trend popped up on my feed on TikTok and it said "If my life were a 30 second trailer", this trend inspired me the whole time making this because I wanted it to be very wholesome and sweet. I also added another video at the end my best friend Lindsay took for me in the Keys. I thought this video was beautiful beca

Production Blog - Videos

Hi y'all! It's Rowyn back with another blog. Today we will start the editing portion of the videos! Since the Research and Planning blog, I've changed a lot of things. I've added more photos but that will all be explained in the next blog. But for the videos I added more to it! Today in class I helped my best friend Kylie who is in my media group with her commercial. She didn't know how to apply her song so I showed her how to by screen recording the song on Youtube and then applying the screen recording to IMovie by clicking the three dots and choosing the option "Audio Only". While looking at her commercial, I had major inspiration. Her commercial was like almost spilt into her life and then sports. This inspired me to make sections in my commercial where I would have one photo associate with a video. For one video on my commercial I used one photo to help give context for the video I put after. I was in Vermont so I put a picture of me boarding a plane

Production Blog - Pictures

Hi y'all! It's Rowyn again, and today we will be starting the editing process of my commercial! Last blog I was reminiscing using Imovie to edit videos a long time ago and now I can finally do so again. For the videos and photos I chose I kept them in an album on my camera roll so I can keep it organized. Today we will start the editing process on the photos! For the first photo I will put on my commercial is me in front of the ocean in Seaside, Florida. I go there every spring break and it's one of my favorite places to travel to. I inserted the photo and set the duration to about 3.5 seconds. The duration might change in the meantime but i'm just laying everything out first. Second is me and my camp friends in a digital camera photo. This is one of my favorite memories so I have to include it! Once again I inserted it and set the duration the same time. The third photo that will be on the commercial is a photo from 2 years ago boarding a plane on the way to Vermont. V

Production Blog - Nostalgia

Hey y'all! It's Rowyn again and today we are going to be talking about the process of making my commercial. I don't have much experience in editing or making videos from photos/videos but I have made this one video of me and my friends in 6th grade for this Harry Potter project we had to do. I distinctively remember me struggling the whole time haha, but I remember the hard work I put into it and me and my friends ended up getting the highest score in the class! I'm aiming for higher though since what we are talking about was 4 years ago. I believe I can improve my editing skills by working as hard I did in 6th grade. I remember I used IMovie when making the Harry Potter video so I redownloaded it after a very long time and was blessed by the old videos I used to make like 8 years ago haha. After like 2 straight hours of laughing and watching my old videos, I decided it was time to start putting together my commercial. At first it was confusing because I totally forgot

Research and Planning Blog

Hey y'all! It's me Rowyn again and here is me explaining my vision and the media I will choose for my commercial. Picking and choosing content hasn't been easy because there are so many to choose from! This commercial will include every photo, video, and song expressing me. First is for my photos,   one photo will be of me in front of the ocean to express my love for the beach and why I love spending my time there! Another photo for my commercial will be me and all of my friends at a camp I went to this summer. This summer has shaped me into who I am today and I am forever grateful for it so it has to be included. And one last photo will be me with my suitcase going on the plane to Vermont! I go to Vermont every summer to see my family and every time is a blast so this photo has to be in my commercial because it expresses my love for travel! Out of 30,000 photos on my phone, I believe that these 3 photos that are going on my commercial best describe me! Second are my video

Intro Blog

Hi! My name is Rowyn, and I'm a sophomore at Fort Lauderdale High School. Attending high school  gave me a lot of opportunities as a person. For starters, I play volleyball and I have been playing for over 3 years. Being on the team has brought many people into my life who have been the best people to be  around with every day after school. Someday I would also really like to start playing lacrosse which is a new sport I'm trying out! Academic-wise, I'm involved with a ton of business classes. I have taken marketing since freshman year which is what I want to pursue in with my future.  One thing that does quite bring me down is math, I've always disliked math even when I do get it. Walking into my math class is one of the lowest parts of my day but I won't let it stop me from bringing me down. I also am involved with a ton of volunteering! Over the summer I attended a church camp where I was a waitress and I made deep connections with my peers and l
