Hi y'all! It's Rowyn again, and today we will be starting the editing process of my commercial! Last blog I was reminiscing using Imovie to edit videos a long time ago and now I can finally do so again. For the videos and photos I chose I kept them in an album on my camera roll so I can keep it organized. Today we will start the editing process on the photos! For the first photo I will put on my commercial is me in front of the ocean in Seaside, Florida. I go there every spring break and it's one of my favorite places to travel to. I inserted the photo and set the duration to about 3.5 seconds. The duration might change in the meantime but i'm just laying everything out first. Second is me and my camp friends in a digital camera photo. This is one of my favorite memories so I have to include it! Once again I inserted it and set the duration the same time. The third photo that will be on the commercial is a photo from 2 years ago boarding a plane on the way to Vermont. Vermont has had such an impact on my life so it wouldn't be fair to not include it! Now that all of the photos are assembled onto the draft on IMovie, it is now time to start editing the photos! I wanted the commercial to include transitions. For this I tapped the little square in between each picture and selected a transition I wanted to choose. There are 6 transitions, including one that doesn't have anything. There aren't many options to choose from so I tested how I like each one. Out of all the options I decided the the "Slide" transition was the one I really liked the most! That would be all the editing I will be doing for now. And I am excited to finish the rest tomorrow! See you soon!
1. How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues? Answer: This product utilizes conventions in horror and thriller movies. We used camera angles, music, editing, and dialogue that are commonly used in movies like this. For example, this product has scenes that are close-ups which are used in horror films to show fear in characters or to show what may be happening to change the viewer's focus while watching. In this scene right here we used a close-up to show the killer show that the audience can feel how close the killer was to the main character without her knowing. Almost as a dramatic irony. When the characters don't know what may be going on but the audience does. Overall, the product was truly a thriller because of the amount of suspense it had. Each scene kept building up which is usually what horror/thriller films use. But it does challenge conventions because of costumes. In this scene h...
