Reflection - All About Me Commercial

1. What technology did you learn to use? 

     I learned to use iMovie and YouTube. IMovie greatly impacted my commercial because editing really put it all together. I also helped my classmates with using iMovie. I don't know what I would do if I didn't edit my commercial with IMovie. YouTube was surprisingly very easy. I helped my classmates upload their videos as well as my own. I even learned how to embed it onto Blogger which was very fun! 
 It was a process and took a little bit to get used to, but it ended up being really good! 

    2. What did you learn about the process of putting a project together?

    I learned many things about the process of putting a project together. One thing is that you have to 
be patient. Editing takes time so it's easy to get annoyed because of how long it is to put in the 
effort and hard work. Another thing is that if you don't know how to do something then you should
always ask a peer or search it up. I have spent countless of times searching things up because things
can get confusing sometimes! One more thing that I learned was that you should always trust the 
process. Believing in yourself is all that you need to make a good project and will always turn out 
good when you do it!


  1. 3. What do you think you can do to make the next project better? 

 

    I think what I can do to make my next project better is to get an early start on it. It is not that I procrastinated, but I believe that I should have gotten it done earlier so if I wanted to make slight changes then I could. Another thing I can do to make the next project better is to put more effort and detail into the editing. I do not mind what I did for my commercial, but it is something to get used to. This is only the first project so I know in the future I will look back on it and wonder why I did that or why I chose that. This project was a great head start and the next projects will eventually get better. I cannot wait to start doing more! 


4. Anything else you would like to add?


    I wanted to say that I had a blast making this commercial! I have learned a lot about making it and editing it. I know there are things I could have done better but as my first time using iMovie in a long time I think I did great. Technology these days makes things a lot easier than I thought it was. I also loved helping my friends Mia and Kylie with their commercials because it gave me a lot of inspiration to mine. Patience is key and time is your best friend. Don't wait until the last minute to do things and you will be golden!

 1. How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues?  Answer:       This product utilizes conventions in horror and thriller movies. We used camera angles, music, editing, and dialogue that are commonly used in movies like this. For example, this product has scenes that are close-ups which are used in horror films to show fear in characters or to show what may be happening to change the viewer's focus while watching. In this scene right here we used a close-up to show the killer show that the audience can feel how close the killer was to the main character without her knowing. Almost as a dramatic irony. When the characters don't know what may be going on but the audience does. Overall, the product was truly a thriller because of the amount of suspense it had. Intro Blog - Final Task

  Hey blog! I'm back again.  I'm a sophomore at Fort Lauderdale High School. Attending high school  gave me a lot of opportunities as a person. For starters, I play volleyball and I have been playing for over 3 years. Being on the team has brought many people into my life who have been the best people to be  around with every day after school. Someday I would also really like to start playing lacrosse which is a new sport I'm trying out! Academic-wise, I'm involved with a ton of business classes. I have taken marketing since freshman year which is what I want to pursue in with my future.  One thing that does quite bring me down is math, I've always disliked math even when I do get it.
