Hi y'all! It's your girl back at it again with another blog. It's officially Halloween tomorrow! I can't wait to dress up but most importantly it fits so well with the theme of the music video! Stay safe and have fun! Today we are starting the editing process. Yes, it's that time of the month, Editing! I'm not complaining because I genuinely enjoy it but let us get started! I plan to use the app iMovie to edit the music video. First and foremost I screen-recorded "I Can See You" - Taylor Swift from YouTube and adjusted the recording to 1:20 so I would have some space if I needed. I decided that today I would only edit the videos from the mall scenes. In the opening scene, I cut some of the video because Kylie was seen laughing and looking at the camera on accident. I plan to add a title but that will be after the whole video is done. Secondly, we have the over-the-shoulder shot of Mia looking at Kylie. I connected this with the first scene with no transition so it can have that immediate shot of Mia. The third scene started with a fade transition with a duration of a second and this scene is one of my favorites. I yelled "go" to signal Mia to duck down when Kylie looked behind her and it only took us one take! Then I added a close-up of Kylie looking confused. After that, I added a theme transition to the tracking shot of Kylie walking with Mia behind her. I really love the slide Mia did on the beat. And for our final scene of the mall, we have the parking garage scene connected with the theme transition! This scene I love so much because I am always scared in parking garages so this just gives me the spook! We had many complications with this scene but I adjusted it to make it all look natural! Thank you guys for being with me while I edit! See y'all in the next one!
1. How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues? Answer: This product utilizes conventions in horror and thriller movies. We used camera angles, music, editing, and dialogue that are commonly used in movies like this. For example, this product has scenes that are close-ups which are used in horror films to show fear in characters or to show what may be happening to change the viewer's focus while watching. In this scene right here we used a close-up to show the killer show that the audience can feel how close the killer was to the main character without her knowing. Almost as a dramatic irony. When the characters don't know what may be going on but the audience does. Overall, the product was truly a thriller because of the amount of suspense it had. Each scene kept building up which is usually what horror/thriller films use. But it does challenge conventions because of costumes. In this scene h...
